It is with great regret we have to record the death of the well known artist

Mr. Max Cowper

whose work in black and white was frequently to be seen in the pages of this paper.
He was especially happy in his treatment of figures and social subjects generally.
His death, which is all the sadder in that he was a
comparatively young man, took place at the
Cottage Hospital, Shooter's Hill, Blackheath,
following an operation for appendicitis
